WHY OUR COLOR IS DIFFERENT

Why Our Color Work Is Different

Bond Protection in Every Lightening Service

Lightening hair breaks bonds. Period. The question is what you do about it. We use Olaplex and other bond builders in every lightening service to protect the integrity of your hair while we lift. That is why our blondes leave with healthier hair than most salons can deliver.

Real Color Consultations

Color is not a 10 minute decision. Before mixing, we sit down with you, look at your skin tone, your eye color, your wardrobe, and your maintenance budget. Then we tell you what is realistic, what it will cost, and what the timeline looks like. No surprises mid appointment.

Specialty Color Work

Several of our colorists specialize in advanced techniques: balayage, foilyage, color correction, vivids, and high lift. The front desk pairs you with the colorist whose skill set matches what you want.

Color That Grows Out Right

We design color so it ages gracefully. Money piece highlights that frame your face for months. Balayage that softens at the root instead of leaving a harsh line. Toning that fades evenly without pulling brassy or muddy.

SERVICES MENU

Our Color Services

Balayage

Hand painted highlights that create natural, sun kissed dimension. Soft grow out, no harsh line. Best for clients who want low maintenance color or a natural sunkissed look.

Foilyage

Balayage technique with foil to lift higher and brighter. Combines the soft grow out of balayage with the lightness you can get from foil highlights.

Full Highlights

Highlights placed throughout the entire head for maximum brightness and dimension. Best for clients who want a noticeable change or full coverage of darker hair.

Partial Highlights

Highlights placed around the face and on the top section of the head. Best for clients who want brightness around the face without committing to full coverage.

Money Piece

Bold face framing highlights placed at the front of the hair. Adds dramatic contrast around the face. Often added to a base color or balayage.

Root Retouch

Permanent color applied at the roots to refresh your existing color. The most efficient way to maintain color between full appointments.

Both the Glow Maintenance ($89/month) and Platinum Signature ($149/month) salon memberships include root retouch as one of the options. Visit our memberships page for details.

All Over Color

Full single process color from roots to ends. Best for changing your overall color, covering grays comprehensively, or adding richness to faded color.

Color Correction

Fixing color that did not turn out the way you wanted. This could mean removing brassy tones, evening out a botched home color, going from box dye to balayage, or repairing damage from previous over processing. Always requires a consultation first.

Toner / Gloss

A semi permanent color that refreshes tone, neutralizes brassiness, and adds shine. Often added to highlights or balayage. Stand alone glosses are perfect for in between full color appointments.

Olaplex Treatment

Bond rebuilding treatment that repairs damage from chemical services. Standard add on to any color service. Available as a stand alone treatment.

Pricing

Full pricing menu is on our homepage. Color pricing depends on hair length, density, and the technique used. The front desk can quote your specific service when you book or after a consultation.

BOND PROTECTION DEEP DIVE

Why Bond Protection Matters

Hair is mostly made of protein chains held together by chemical bonds. When you lighten hair, the lightening process breaks some of those bonds. The more you lighten, the more bonds break.

Bond builders like Olaplex use a different chemistry that helps relink broken bonds during the service. The result is hair that comes out lighter without the breakage and damage you would expect from straight bleach alone.

Every lightening service we do includes bond protection built in. We do not charge extra for it. We do not see it as an add on. It is part of the basic standard of how we work.

For clients who go very light or come in with already damaged hair, we use additional bond rebuilding treatments at home and sometimes recommend bond rebuilding products you can take home.

COLOR MAINTENANCE

How to Make Your Color Last

Use Color Safe Shampoo

The single biggest thing you can do at home. Look for sulfate free, color safe formulas. Your colorist can recommend specific products based on your hair and color.

Wash Less

Every wash fades color. Try to stretch wash days. Dry shampoo, scalp refreshers, and good styling tools help.

Cool Water Rinses

Hot water opens the hair cuticle and lets color escape. Rinse with cool to lukewarm water to

seal the cuticle and lock in color.

UV Protection

Sun fades color, especially blondes and reds. Hats, UV protective sprays, and avoiding peak sun exposure all help.

Glosses Between Color Appointments

A gloss every 4 to 6 weeks refreshes tone and shine without committing to a full color service. Often takes 30 to 45 minutes and is the cheapest way to keep color looking fresh.

Bond Building Treatments at Home

Especially for blondes. A weekly Olaplex No 3 or similar bond builder helps maintain hair integrity between salon visits.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your First Color Visit

Step 1: Consultation

We sit down with you, look at your hair in natural light, and ask about your goals, your maintenance budget, and any color history. Bring inspiration photos if you have them.

Step 2: Realistic Plan

We tell you honestly what is achievable in one appointment versus what may take multiple visits. We tell you what it will cost. We explain the at home maintenance.

Step 3: Strand Test (sometimes)

For major color changes or correction work, we may run a strand test before fully committing. This protects your hair and gives us critical information.

Step 4: The Color Service

Depending on the service, expect 90 minutes to 4 hours. Bring a charged phone, headphones, or a book. We have water, coffee, and snacks.

Step 5: Toning and Style

After the lift or color processes, we tone, condition, and finish style. Most color services include a blowout.

Step 6: Take Home Plan

Before you leave, your colorist will explain what to use at home, when to come back, and what to watch for. We text appointment reminders so you do not have to track timing.

FAQ

Color FAQs

  • How much does balayage cost?

Balayage starts around $135 and goes up based on hair length, density, and how light you want to go. We always quote the specific price during your consultation so there are no surprises. Color correction or going from very dark to very light may require multiple sessions.

  • How long does color take?

Single process color: 90 minutes to 2 hours. Highlights: 2 to 3 hours. Balayage: 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Color correction: 4 to 6 hours and may need multiple visits. We block enough time to do the work right, not rush.

  • Will my hair be damaged?

Lightening hair breaks bonds. We protect against damage with Olaplex and other bond builders in every lightening service. Healthy hair coming in stays healthy coming out. Already damaged hair may need to be repaired before going lighter.

  • Can you fix box dye?

Often yes, but it depends on what is in the box and how many layers are built up. Color correction can take multiple sessions and requires a consultation first.

  • How often do I need to come back?

Root retouch: every 4 to 6 weeks. Full highlights: every 8 to 12 weeks. Balayage: every 12 to 16 weeks (one of the perks). Glosses can extend the life of any color service.

  • Do you do vivid colors like pink, blue, or purple?

Yes. Vivid colors require a lightening base first if your hair is darker. The lightening service is priced separately from the vivid color application. Vivids fade faster than traditional color, usually 3 to 6 weeks.

  • What is the difference between balayage and highlights?

Highlights are placed in foils which gives a more uniform, brighter result. Balayage is hand painted and gives a softer, more natural, more lived in look. Foilyage combines both for the brightness of highlights with the soft grow out of balayage.

  • Can I bring inspiration photos?

Please do. Photos help us understand exactly what you want. Bring photos of looks you love. Also helpful to bring a photo of what you do not want, if you can find one.

  • What if my color comes out wrong?

Tell us. We will fix it. We do not consider a color appointment complete until you are happy with the result.

  • Do you offer a membership for color?

Both the Glow Maintenance ($89/month) and Platinum Signature ($149/month) salon memberships include root retouch as one of the choosable services. Visit our memberships page for details.
